I am a birder. A mystic birder. I love birds.

Birds are a gateway. To love birds is to love their spaces, their habitats, their diet. The bugs, worms, grasshoppers, ladybugs, etc.

To love the worms and slugs is to love their diet also. Which sometimes include fungi.

And in Upstate New York? There is much fungi to witness.

Beyond the unusual quality fungi have, it is their forming from decay that makes me love them most.

A reminder that nothing ever really dies. A transition happens at death which in nature gives life to so many other things.
